Visa on Arrival for Bali / Indonesia (VoA & e-VoA)

After 2 years, the Indonesian government has re-introduced the Visa on Arrival for 80+ nationalities. We expect that over the course of the next few months more nationalities will be added to the list – but for now nobody knows which and when. Just recently the Indonesian Government introduced the e-VoA for 26 countries (electronic Visa on Arrival). More infos in the FAQ.

The immigration regulations are always based on the PASSPORT that you are holding. Residency permits of other countries are NOT considered.

How do I get the Visa on Arrival, can can I purchase it online before I arrive (electronic VoA)?

You purchase the VoA at the VoA counter in the arrival hall of the airport. As the name suggests, it’s a Visa that is granted “upon arrival”.

NEW: Electronic Visa on Arrival Option available for 26 nationalities:

Indonesia started to offer for the following countries the e-VoA. You can purchase the Visa already online and avoid queuing at VoA counters at the airport which will save you time and hassle.

For now, this facility is for travelers who land in Jakarta (CGK)  and Bali (DPS).

How long is it valid and can it be extended

  • Valid for 30 days
  • Can be extended ONLY once for 30 days
  • For extension you need to do it at the local immigration office and we advise you to get assistance from a visa agency in Bali
  • Costs for an assisted extension should be around USD70 (IDR 1,000,000)
  • You need to personally appear at the immigration office for fingerprint and photo

 

What does the Visa on arrival cost and how do I pay for it?

  • Purchase at the airport arrival hall
  • Price: IDR 500,000 (ca. USD 35 / AUD 50)
  • Pay at the VoA counter in cash (EUR, GBP, AUD, USD, SGD, IDR) or by mastercard and visa

Can I stay longer than 60 days with the Visa on Arrival?

No.

YOU CANNOT GET ANOTHER VISA AFTER YOU HAVE EXTENDED the visa on arrival ONCE (max. 60 days in total), while you are in Indonesia. You would have to leave the country and come pack.

If you want to stay longer than 60 days, you have to get a B211A OFFSHORE Visit Visa (60days) before your arrival first, which is valid for 60 days.

 

Can I apply for B211A On-shore Visa after I extended my Visa on Arrival (VoA)?

No, you can not apply for B211A on-shore visa if you have extended your VoA. As per regulation, travellers on VoA can only extend their VoA for another 30 days (total 60 days of stay permit) and after that travellers must leave the country.
