The top restaurants in Canggu are already on our list, but what about the renowned Canggu cafes and coffee shops that are located in this bohemian coastal neighborhood? Right here in Canggu, scattered throughout Batu Bolong, Berawa, and beyond are some of Bali’s best breakfasts, vegan snacks, and gourmet brunches – all served up with amazing beers of course. So, before visiting the beach, spa, or the greatest bars in Canggu, settle in for a long, languid morning (one that could well stretch till late arvo) and load up on Bali’s yummiest bites from Canggu’s very best cafés.
Madu & Milk
There is a reason why everyone adores this amazing café on the sleepy road to Berawa. Fantastic all-day breakfasts are followed by scrumptious lunches and mouthwatering evenings, which are all served in a fun, family-friendly environment. With a smoothie or a decent cup of coffee, try The Madu poached eggs with hollandaise sauce or three egg skillets with bacon, cured salmon, and goat cheese. For those who want their mornings particularly fruity, this location also has a smoothie bowl counter.
The Avocado Factory
There is no such thing as “too much” avocado, in our opinion. We put avocado on toast, in our burgers, in our smoothie bowls, and even in pieces throughout our dipping sauces. As it turns out, The Avocado Factory shares our passion for nature’s gift of sustainability and has created a menu that features nothing but avocados. You’ll want to indulge in classics like the Avo Cheese Croissant XL, the Truffle Benedict with avocado and truffled hollandaise, and the broccoli toast with mashed mayo, which are all packed with delectable avocado-stuffed staples. Oh, and don’t overlook all the delectable treats!
Café Crate
Is this Bali’s top breakfast? Many would concur. Canggu’s coolest frequent this chic, hipster coffee shop constantly; perhaps it’s the killer soundtrack, the on-site island boutique, or the cuisine is just so dang amazing (and affordable). The Peas Please, which consists of spinach, feta, and peas on bread with a poached egg perched above, must be among the best breakfasts. Design out for Crate’s trademark industrial-chic look, bold murals, amazing smoothie bowls, and some of the best coffee in town. It is situated right off Batu Bolong between Padang Linjong. But don’t just take our word for it—this Canggu legend is always bustling.
Front Cafe
Front Cafe, a pleasant and simple no-frills coffee shop amid Pererenan’s charming streets, makes up for its diminutive size with rich, flavorful coffees, creamy smoothies, and a robust menu packed with delectable cafe-style meals. Consider filling croissants, large breakfast burgers, whipped omelettes, smashed avo with beetroot hummus, and a vegan toastie topped with melty plant-based mozzarella. Sit on a couch bench and watch the masses of digital nomads pass by, or stand on a street corner and observe the world of ceremonies, scooters, and school runs.
The Shady Shack
The Shady Shack, as its name suggests, has the cutest tropically gorgeous shaded seating spaces next to Canggu’s rice fields. Vegetarians, rejoice! The entire menu is vegan and really healthy to boot; we especially like the nori bowl, vegan lasagne, and Pillow Talk gnocchi. Also, don’t forget to try the raw banoffee cheesecake. Grab a long black or cold coconut, or even better, give your immune system a boost with a turmeric latte.
